“Let’s go to the land of the Jayhawks and hang out at the St.Patrick’s Day parade,” my wife said. So, off we drove, all dressed in green and wearing layers of shiny shamrock necklaces. Shannon’s tradition is to nosh on a basket full of fish and chips from FREESTATE BREWING COMPANY while watching super lame floats go by. The best hoo-ha of the day was not grown men going in circles in go-carts, but the guy I photographed below giving knuckles and hand bumps to everyone he met. All-in-all it was such a fun day. Not because I’m still burping fish, but because I was able to hang out with my family and 10,000 other people all wearing green.
A BIT ABOUT ME…
I am a breakfast making, nightly children’s book reading, do my own laundry (sometimes) type dad / husband. If I don’t answer my cell phone right away, it’s likely I have two feet clicked into my mountain bike pedaling nowhere fast.
My ultimate passion, besides my thrill seeking adventures and family hugs, is CrEaTiNg. From as long as I can remember, I have always needed something in my hands to fiddle with. Exploring with string, paint or a camera is all the same to me. I see everything as a potential creative tool ready to be expressed in a new way.
For me, life is about looking and connecting more deeply with the world around me. And of course, cleaning the mashed pea goo in the crevices of my son’s high chair.
“Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun.” — Mary Lou Cook
