The snow has melted off my wife, shannon’s, website replaced by the pizzazz of spring. She chose a handful of my images for all of her refreshed profile head shots and other stuff. She must like me.
“Let’s go to the land of the Jayhawks and hang out at the St.Patrick’s Day parade,” my wife said. So, off we drove, all dressed in green and wearing layers of shiny shamrock necklaces. Shannon’s tradition is to nosh on a basket full of fish and chips from FREESTATE BREWING COMPANY while watching super lame floats go by. The best hoo-ha of the day was not grown men going in circles in go-carts, but the guy I photographed below giving knuckles and hand bumps to everyone he met. All-in-all it was such a fun day. Not because I’m still burping fish, but because I was able to hang out with my family and 10,000 other people all wearing green.
A while ago I got a photography assignment to shoot guitars for a friend of mine who works for Lakeshore Entertainment in LA. I borrowed a few guitars from friends and family to do the handful of studio shots. After the project was over, I emailed my friends and family who owns the guitars pictured below, and asked them what their favorite color was. Can you guess which guitar belongs to my 4 year old son? BTW, his colors change daily. Today his favorite color is Black!
I’m taking a quick break, like a 20 minute break, from all the Ronald McDonald House, Doors of Hope, work to play a bit with onOne Software perfect effects 3. I normally don’t do this much image manipulation but, I wanted to give myself a little assignment of using texture and type to create a grunge look. It was fun, but now I’m done and need to hang out on the couch with my wife!
